*Smug smile* Heard they had to use the HMAS Melbourne and other Carriers as they had not clue, it's taken them 9 year to get to this stage, Australia has two being built (sure they are smaller but much more versatile)

Sounds like a John Watson story, I'm not sure if I want the old girl to finally see service really

Well yeah Rodondo they studied other carriers considering the learning curve. Can't pull a Carrier Battle Group out of your ass overnight. I've been following the Saga of the Varyag since she was towed to China. She sat for a couple of years before they starting overhauling her. She's still a couple of years off before she's fully worked up and operational IMO and then the Chinese will be using her for training and learning how to operate a CBG.

Also Rodondo the two Aussie decks will only be helo carriers until (actually its looking more like if) the F-35B is operational.

Be interesting to see what infrastructure they have to build to accommodate such large ships

True but we did have 3 carriers previously (and a seaplane carrier)
