Because in a modern situation, a battlecarrier can attack the enemy with guns and missiles While providing air support equivalent to an Invincible class carrier

Ships like them already exist. Such as the Kiev carrier

Guns are useless if if missiles are needed as the most range a naval gun can get is 45km at best

But not in large numbers, the Nimitz class has more examples

I believe that the answer to the debate about carriers or battleships is a battlecarrier. Such as the 1982 Iowa never built. A perfect battlecarrier would have a flight deck supporting V-STOL aircraft and a heavy armament of guns and missiles
Are you serious?

Yeah, I'm serious. An example is the Kiev class carriers. They have multiple SSM, SAM, and guns while having a large air wing and flightdeck.

Battlecarriers have been an obsession and this is one that I cobbled together from the 2 V-STOL never built iowas and another I found in an AU thread.

Before I give this a real look over, the secondary wing turrets don't have enough space

Not sure if they would fit there but they do need to be a tad bit forwards to turn
