Another RAF type, the Avro 701 Athena. Designed to Spec T.7/45 for a three-seat advanced turboprop-powered advanced trainer. The Athena, likes its Boulton Paul Balliol competitor, was converted to RR Merlin power when the turboprops failed to be reliable enough to use. Only 15 T.Mk.2 were built before production ceased in favour of the Balliol.

Another lesser-known British aircraft. The Blackburn B-54 anti-submarine aircraf that flew in several versions but lost out to the Fairey Gannet.

Any what-if Mamba-powered production B-54s will go into the new British What-if thread.

Not as sinfully ugly as the Gannet is but she's not a looker.

Looks are one thing, but capability and mission is another.
