the netherlands are free though.... apart from JLOS, the hollands and the morrocan SIGMA's we have nothing to be build currently. from 2012 onward our shipyards will be empty.....
but well.... it seems we are not in the race here. sigma's could be build for both the frigate and the OPV role though....

I vote for 'other'. I would submit my requirements to the Shipbucket community and let them decide the best option... 8-)

Oh talk about sucking up to the community.

Actually I'd buy from China. It's cheaper and it's the best technology stolen from the US that they can't afford to spend on their navy.

Scifi-lol

China's being smart. Why spend billions in R&D when you can bribe someone to steal the plans for 20 bucks and a pack of smokes and reverse engineer it.

no reason they couldn't go Chinese. all those BRIC counties got to stick together. But at the same time they might as well pick over the desperate remains of the western colonizers. >:-)

Given the political views of Brazil leaning towards Argentina over the Falklands and the recent calls in the martime magzines warning about such double standards by Brazil to buy British and then turn against us and perhaps one day support Argentina against us (perhaps with force with said ships Vs the RN) I think the government would be wiser to ignore the immediate prospects of cash and think wisely.
Anyhow realistically the British shipbuilding industry probably couldn't handle those orders and those of any future RN ship orders (if any!).

yes. but France has now taken the lead. There are legitimate reasons for each fleet. and I bet nationalism is coming into play too. but I say this as a American, if i was trying to build a navy I would never try to buy a new build US designed warship (well maybe a AUSTAL JHSV).

i still havent voted either.
