Catz, it still needs A LOT of work, and how did you figure the scale of the map?
Used the 1500 km key that's right there in the map legend.
*facepalm* Okay, thanks.

Not finished yet, but a preview of Carnac's largest surface combatant, (carriers don't count here) the Carnac class. Two or three would be built, having one deployed at all times. Nuclear powered.

I question the ship's stability in heavy seas. Also, I'd swap the front and aft GMLS, if not lose the Tartar launcher altogether. You've got a hull that's closer to Coontz or and Adams than a Belknap, and that limits your options.

Made some major changes to it. I lengthened it, gave it more draft, moved around the missiles (although Tartar is magically launching Terrier, I'll fix that)

Catz you would not get a Sea King in the hanger. :? One it's physically not tall enough, two the AA turret prevents entry of the helo on the port side where the shutter is.

Catz if range restrictions are unacceptable to you then why are you using LNG? Even with modern reefer tanks you'll still need twice the space for the same range. And it's not as if nuclears doesn't have range restrictions.

Why do all your nuclear thorium ships have funnels?

Any other changes needed to the Carnac class, other then a general clean-up and rails?

My first AU ship for Vrijstaat

[ img ]

These small patrol corvettes were built in the 1940's to patrol the waters between the islands and surroundig areas.
The small hangar aft and small seaplane were part of the Admiralty requirement for long range search and location ability, the ships are lightly armed, with AA guns and a dual purpose twin mounting, as well as ASW rockets projector.

Isn't that a bit obsolete for 1970?
