The APAR is designed specifically for its mast. Once you start mucking about with it you loose all the work that went into reducing interference etc.

Point taken. Will be in the next major update.

Oh. I see. Can I claim that my own APAR's have been produced from the start for this kind of mast? If not, I'll use the old one.

There's no reason why it shouldn't work like this, it's just going to be more expensive.

Next update will be an uncoloured and sparely detailed top down version, but on scale. It might take some time, but this is neccesary to determine how those angles fit together.

One more thing. Do I need some sort of close-in support gun for very fast vessels? An autocannon or machine gun of sorts? If so, which one would you guys reccomend?

(bear in mind, I already have a roleplay planned which will involve pirates and some fast attack craft.)

Also, I am not entirely happy with my main gun. I think the AK-130 would be a very useful design, despite that it may not fit with a ship that mainly uses NATO and Thales equipement. The AK-130 supposedly has a very high firerate and a high elevation; it's downside is size, weight, and cost, but none of these are of concern on a ship like this. Is the AK-130 indeed useful, or should I just stick with my OTO-127 ?)

Hitroles are very nice for that.

Personally I don't think the slight increase in capability is worth the extra 63 tons.

(I knew someone would say that, lol)

Considering I already have a pretty huge and heavy ship, and considering I do want something serious for shore bombardment now that my MLRS is gone, I think the added weight is worth it. After all, the alternative is an AGS...

I think I'll design my own gun however, instead of copying everything from the Russian gun. Will have the same mech, but with a different calibre.

It doesn't quite have the range of a real naval gun. And it doesn't has that... (how do you call that?) ballistic trajectory... thingie. That, and it lacks firepower compared to a lol-artillery gun.

hitrole was meant for the automated machine guns you asked about ;)
and well... the second best thing for shore bombarement after an 155.... is an 127. so the OTO 127 should be perfect.

You're not going to need a fire rate of 60 round per minute for shore bombardment. You'll need deep magazines and maybe an ERGM style round. The OTO offers both for considerably less weight than the AK.
