That used to be enough, but ever since the IPhone came along, the amount of mac compatible vira/malware has exploded.

I personally use Microsoft Security Essentials on all of the machines on the network here. I've also locked down user accounts on most of the machines, most users are limited or Power users. There are a few exceptions, but I won't get into them here.

The big thing with Windows is getting your users to get used to not having admin privileges from the word go. A good firewall (the stock firewall in XP SP2 on is a good choice for the average user), and a good malware program are all you need. I've had exactly 3 false positives with MSE, and those were for programs that that customize other programs (and thus act like malware, so I want them to be IDed).

For Mac users, the issue is that they are so not used to being safe that they are at quite a risk.

Some hacker will make a shitstorm of money if they develop a virus that rips off Mac users somehow.

Personally, I can't wait for it to happen; too many years of listening to all those smug assholes in coffee shops have left me with a rather jaded view towards Macs...

I am screwed.
MY mobile has a virus, and now my laptop aswell.
Somehow my mobile caught a virus from my pc, i plugged it into my laptop and spread there.

Today i went on my laptop to look on here, and i logged out automatic.
Tried to log in and my password was changed.
So it is a virus, or just weird junk.

This list goes on and on.
I just cant take it anymore.
Im currently saving my files by using a PDA from my work to clean up the virusses at my extern hard disk.
I just have nothing else to do for my computer right now then let it have the virusses in him and die or something.

Save your files, get your Windows CD and format both PC and laptop and re-install windows.
Also it's avery good idea to have all important files on an external hard-drive.

Reinstall Windows, it's what I had to do back in July when my laptop was KIA by the iexplorer.exe virus.

Viruses suck.
