Sigh.... :(

Two things:

1. Why on earth are you attemting to do a Kitbash for a ship that is completely individual and different from the Cavour class? Yes there are resambles, like there is between Majestetic and Centaur class, but If We would spot someone trying to achive the later by doing kitbashing from the first, We would simply laugh him out of the stage wouldn't we?

Also, (and I've said this million time now), if You want to drawn the new not-yet-build Indian ships, do them properly after proper linedrawings and basereferences, not by trying to kitbash something that remotedly resemples them.

2. Mitchell, you've allready got enough slack from the staff, so how about droping that juvenile attitude that enshames all of who are part of our community. If Insist to behave like schoolkid, then do it elsewhere.

well, I drew this ship after reference that used parts of the cavour. colombimike posted one of those refs I used a few days ago, but he has now removed it. this reference was very bad though. [ img ]
because it seemed 90% based on the cavour, I used that one as an base. the fact that I have not tried to do the final concept, is because of what you said: I wait for the plans/pictures to begin floating around. it is not my intention to draw the one that will be build (hence, why this is in neverbuild), the one I drew was (possibly, I was not able to confirm the source of these drawings) an concept for the vikrant, for which there never will be better plans.

Just if the linedrawing you are using is also a crude kitbash from Cavour doesen't make it any more acceptable to do it via kitbashing. Perhaps you miss my point.

For example, the Soviet pr. 205P Border guard boat is "90 %" based on the Pr.205 Missile boat, they are just adaptations of each others with different armament. However, never did I even once thougth of Kitbashing the 205P from Mconrads orginal 205, despite such would have been "easiest" by first ignorant thougth.

I agree. you think I should scrap this drawing? I mainly made it as an base for the french idea, so I got the sizes more or less right..... so that would not be an problem. and the ref is dubious, I agree on that with you, most likely somebody heard the vikrant would be based on the cavour but longer, and made this after it. so, what do you think is the best thing to do? if I have to forget this drawing entirely, that's ok for me. if you think it needs more work: then I can only agree..... but scrapping it would be easier then, as there are entirely no sources for this early version. I will then proceed with the french design instead (what I would do, anyways....)

in any case I will wait for the real one floating before I start on that one ;) you don't have to worry about that.

Well if you really want to draw Virkrant, search for good reference, and then draw it from keel up by yourself. Thats my sole advice. You can retain this drawing as "conceptual" drawing of the thing, while waiting for the good reference to come by as the ship starts to get ready for completion itself

that was the entire idea of this drawing, indeed ;) is it suitable for upload or....
and I will draw the french version after this one from the keel up, only with the sizes of this one in mind. the real one is out of my reach for now, I want to do her but I'll wait for good refs.
