On Juan Quindo Whatever, you have a small-caliber AA gun right on top of the bridge immediately in front of the range-finding set. I think it actually makes more sense if both ships had a 10.5-cm turret in that location (actually, a bit more forward) from the get-go. Indeed I understand this would've been actually a defining feature of later KM ships if they had been built, and Tirpitz would've been so modified if resources were available.

Ah yes, understood. Thanks for your thoughts.
I didn't use that option because of the increasing top weight. The 10,5cm twins were armoured with a 20mm plating, introduced with Bismarck. I still couldn't recover the weight of such an armoured turret but an installation at that height did not seem useful to me.
The second ship was commissioned without any light aa due to peacetime. So the place was left blank.
I will do a late 40s refit with a 'Föhn'-launcher at that position. The Föhn was a german missile, similiar to the british UP. Unlike the UP, the Föhn is found useful (in my AU only).

The Stettin class was a followup to the Hipper-class with much lesser weight and armament. It is a merger from the upcoming M-class light cruiser and the Hipper-class with some surviving details from Nurnberg-class light cruiser.
Lenght is 194 m, displacement about 10.000 tons, complement 1350. Armament is 3 x 203mm-twins (same turret as Hipper), 6 x 105mm twin heavy aa, 16 x 20mm light aa, 4 x torpedolauncher triples, two aircraft Arado Ar196 could be stored, one central catapult.
For gun direction two 7m rangefinders with applied FuMo27, a further 6,5m rangefinder and some more radars are installed. and finally the usual four 4m directors for the aa guns.
Stettin was layed up 1938, immediatly after Prinz Eugen had left the yard. Launched in 1940, commissioned 1941 she was ready at the european armistice. Her sister 'Danzig' followed three month later.

For the invasion Stettins anti aircraft abilities were beefed up. Some more single 20mm, 30mm quads on the main turrets, some Föhn-launchers, and two 5,5cm twins, radar-directed. The Stettin went with Thames blockade fleet and survived finally after receiving hundreds of small calibre hits.

That was one central parameter at developing this AU.
In order to keep the US out, you'll need to deny them causus belli. This has a lot of consequences, most importantly that unrestricted submarine warfare becomes impossible. This in turn means that Britain won't have to spend resources on protecting convoys since they'll hire US flagged ships instead, freeing up considerable resources that can go towards other operations.

Germany could have had a fighting chance, IF they hadn't betrayed the U.S.S.R. That stole a huge resource from Japan and Germany both.

Not really. The USSR would in all likelyhood have invaded Germany once they'd gotten their feet back under them.

Stalin hated the fascist, and over all Mussolini and Hitler.
He would have build up his army faster then Germany could ever do.
And when Brittain was taken by Germany, he would probaly shuffle his feet in Hitlers ass by sending Thousands of tanks, and millions of troops!
