hmm that is an US mk75 mount indeed..... the danish navy uses both then? sorry then, seemed thiel was wrong then and I followed him.....
I guess the guns aren't placed on the ship yet? that would help a lot of course, but well.....

I understand your confusion. I'm confused too. All pictures show this model but says origin is italy. I have another picture here which is very new:

Yeah the Danish use the US one.
On the Thetis (wich laid next to the Van Amstel in Bergen) used it aswell.
I went into the turret, and it seemed it also used a whole different housing aswell.

That's not a Mark 75. The mark 75 is a re-boxed Compact while the Knud Rasmussen and the Thetis class is armed with the Super Rapid.

the turret has the shape of the M75, Thiel. (2 hatches on the rear) while the standard oto melara has only one. maybe we're talking about the same....
so let me rephrase this THiel.... does the one which will be used on these ship have the shape shown on the above pictures or the same shape as the ones of the dutch navy (some of which came from the willemoes class, IIRC...)

It will probably come from the Flyvefisken class, so probably not. However, I still find it important to point out that it isn't a Mark 75.

In my data-sheet from Huitfeldt Class it says each ship are armed with two 76 mm Maskinkanon M/85 LvSa OTO Melara Super Rapid. I'll hope it clarifies it. For my self I can't see the differences on Flyvefisken, Thetis or Knud Rasmussen Class. If there is any differences it might be in the inside?
Btw it's also here it says they are of italian origin. But that might not indicate they are produced in Italy?

That's because they all use the same gun. The Willemoes and the Niels Juel class used the older 75mm Maskinkanon M/71 LvSa which is the Danish designation for the Compact.
It all gets rather confusing once you realize that the M/71 seems to be two different guns.
This is how it looked on the Willemoes class
[ img ]

This is how it looked on the Niels Juel class before their mid-life update in 1998
[ img ]

During their MLU the exhaust or whatever it is was plated over.
I'm guessing that had to do with the update the guns got.
[ img ]

And just to confuse the issue even more it looks exactly like the M/85, yet it's an entirely different gun underneath the shield.

Uhm, minor revision: Is this frigate going to carry the SM-2MR Block 3A?

Because if it is, you want the Standard without the Booster.

I apologize for a misunderstanding earlier.
