Richmond Class Mine Countermeasure Vessels
The Richmond Class Mine Countermeasure Ships are to be built in France by Kership Lorient at Lanester. They are based on the City Class Mine Countermeasures Ships of the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Belgian Navy. These vessels will be fitted with a range of unmanned systems including unmanned surface, aerial and underwater vehicles alongside towed sonars and mine identification and neutralization ROVs.

All vessels in the class will be based at HMAS Waterhen, New South Wales and will form the 16th Mine Countermeasure Squadron.
