Morris C8 "Quad" in German service
Often overlooked is the presence of captured British vehicles in the Wehrmacht.
The Morris C8 FAT artillery tractor had just entered service when British units were sent to France as the BEF. With the disasterous withdrawal duing the Battle of France, the BEF left almost all its equipment behind, including the FAT's. Just as captured and confiscated French equipment was impessed into German service, the new FATS's were also refurbished and used by the Wehrmacht. The 4x4 "Quads" were popular gun carriages, with some being modified to become open-topped in more typical Geman-style.
