Below is my take on some Soviet-era components, which I drew for Soviet Military Hovercrafts thread. I hope to add more here eventually.
It's also my proposal regarding presentation of parts - suggestion to have them both "painted" and in "false colors" was discussed among the Staff members but no conclusions were made - perhaps this will push the issue bit forward. ;)

Word about color sets: first group (yellow/orange/red/maroon/violet) are basic "paint colors" - second group are "special colors", which I use generally for railings, ladders, antennas etc. Distinction between them is that first represent shades etc., while the second has more "functional" character as such (if that makes any sense for You).

Gun Mountings

Utyos-M

Twin 12.7 mm mount utilizing NSV/NSVT heavy machine gun. Introduced in 1975, is installed on hovercraft and minor patrol craft.

[ img ]

BP-30 Plamya

Automatic 30 mm mount utilizing modified version of AGS-17 Playma automatic grenade launcher. Introduced in 1975, is installed on hovercraft and riverine gunboats.

[ img ]

AK-230

Fully automatic twin 30 mm gun, developed in late 1950s as radar-controlled anti-aircraft weapon. Installed mainly on wide variety of smaller vessels - fast attack craft, minesweepers, amphibious vessels (beginning with Pr. 205 (Osa) missile boats and Pr. 206 (Shershen) torpedo boats), but also on some larger warships - enjoyed a production run of some 1450 mounts in the Soviet Union between 1959 and 1984, and around 300 in China (as Type-69). Fire control is provided by MR-104 Rys (Drum Tilt) or MR-103 Bars (Muff Cobb) but optical guidance could be used in necessity.

[ img ]

AK-630

Fully automatic rotary six-barrel 30 mm close-in weapon system. Development begun in 1963, trials of prototypes commenced in 1971 and system was formally introduced into service in 1976 as a more capable replacement of AK-230 to be installed on vide variety of vessels of various sizes, up to aircraft carriers, with a production run exceeding 1000 mounts. Variants included slightly upgraded AK-630M, lighter, air-cooled AK-306, prototype AK-630M1-2 Roy with two sets of barrels of 1983 and introduced in 2007 AK-630M2 Duet, also with two sets of barrels and stealthy turret. Fire control is provided by MR-123 Vympel (Bass Tilt) but optical guidance could be used in necessity.

[ img ]

AK-176

Fully automatic 76.2 mm gun for use against surface and aerial targets (including anti-ship missiles). Developed since 1971 at TsNII Burevestnik, entered trials in 1977 and in 1979 was formally introduced into service. AK-176 has maximum rate of fire of 120 rounds per minute and effective firing range of 10 km (maximum range is 15.5 km). Late 1980s saw introduction of improved version AK-176M with additional television targeting and laser rangefinder, and in 2017 a further development in stealthy turret, the AK-176MA, was introduced. Fire control is normally provided by MR-123 Vympel (Bass Tilt) radar but optical guidance could be used in necessity. Guns of that type are widely used on smaller and medium warships.

Missiles

M-4 (9M33) Osa (NATO: SA-N-4 Gecko)

Short-range anti-aircraft missile of the 4K33 Osa complex, launched from ships with a range of 15 km and maximum altitude of 12 km. Fired from ZIF-122 launcher, fire control provided by 4R33 Baza radar.

[ img ]

P-270 (3M80) Moskit (NATO: SS-N-22 Sunburn)

Supersonic ramjet anti-ship cruise missile, launched from ships, submarines, coastal launchers and aircraft, with a maximum range of 120 - 250 km (depending on version). Developed at Raduga design bureau, entered trials in 1978 and was formally introduced into service in 1984. Fire control for shipboard version provided by 34K1 Monolit radar complex.

Launchers

KT-206M

Quadruple shipboard launcher for P-270 (3M80) Moskit anti-ship missiles (SS-N-22 Sunburn), installed on Pr. 1239-class small missile hovercraft (corvettes).
(Note that launchers installed on Pr. 956-class destroyers are of KT-190M1 type)

[ img ]

ZIF-122

Twin retractable missile launcher for 4K33 Osa surface-to-air missile complex (SA-N-4 Gecko). Missiles are stored belowdeck on 4 drums, each with 5 missiles. Introduced in 1972, is installed on numerous smaller (corvette-sized, as main anti-aircraft armament) and large (as secondary, close-in weapon) warships.

[ img ]

Radars

MR-104 Rys (NATO: Drum Tilt)

Fire control radar operating on decimetric wavelengths. Developed in late 1950s by KB Ametist for AK-230 guns,is capable of aiming 2 mounts simultaneously. Can track air targets at a range of up to 26 kilometers or surface targets of the motor-torpedo boat size at a range up to 4 kilometers.

[ img ]

MR-123 Vympel (NATO: Bass Tilt)

Fire control radar for AK-630 (and variants) and AK-176 guns (MR-123/176 variant), capable of tracking air, sea and coastal targets. Developed in parallel to AK-630 by KB Topaz, is capable of aiming 2 mounts simultaneously at a range up to 45 kilometers.

[ img ]

MR-244 Ekran (Ekran-1)

Navigation radar used primarily on assault hovercrafts and fast attack craft.

[ img ]

MR-352 Pozitiv (NATO: Cross Dome)

Two-dimensional active radar operating in X band (3 cm) for search, detection and tracking of air and surface targets at a range up to 146 kilometers at the maximum altitude of 30 kilometers. Installed on small and medium warships.

[ img ]

34K1 Monolit complex with MR-144

34K1 Monolit complex is active and passive long-range radar set designed primarily for detection and tracking of targets for 3M80 Moskit missiles (SS-N-22 Sunburn), but is also capable of artillery fire control. It is composed of Most, Mayak, Mech and Massiv radars under the main dome and pair of separate MR-144 target-tracking radars. Maximum range of the set is reported to be as much as 450 kilometers, although it's unclear how it's achieved without external aids.

[ img ]

9R33 (NATO: Pop Group)

Fire control radar for 4K33 Osa surface-to-air missile complex (SA-N-4 Gecko). It has detection range (H band) of 30 km and tracking range (J band) of 14 - 23 km.
(Note that descriptions "front" and "rear" apply to the radar, NOT to the ship, so in fact "front" is facing stern and "rear" is facing bow)

Optical Fire Control

Kolonka

Kolonka (lit. "small column") is a generic term for several types of optical fire control devices for small calibre guns and shipborne MRL's operated by Soviet Navy (and export customers).
