I'd remove the black line above and below the boot topping and keep the waterline.

Hmmm...interesting...certainly not what they say is kosher SB, but you may be right, so let me try that suggestion...

Kosher SB is to have a black line along the underside of the boot topping, but that obviously doesn't work when the boot topping extends underwater.

Lovely Jubbly :D These have to be some of the best looking warships ever: at the apogee of Vosper in the seriess of warships they designed. I did read somewhere that they had an even larger design type, maybe Seadart capable?

PB, that'd be a design I'd be killing to explore on your AU RN site, if I may humbly request such a favour?? :D 8-)

I would be all for it, but it might not fit in yet  I actually had an idea once for a whole navy based on the various Vosper designs, and the 'Harrier Carrier' being enlarged on this hull or larger. They also had a very attractive FAC, which featured briefly in Janes, but I can't find any source for it. Vospers are now extinct and there is very little on the web related to their designs. But the idea....... 8-)

Updated the latest image per Thiel's suggestion. Please add feedback on the change viz. the boot topping. If it finds universal or, at least, a majority approval, then I'll go ahead and update the other two drawings also!

When were the FAC design from? The book I have mentions a foreign planing design being considered, but no details are given.

It was a fairly large hull (for the type), with the typical racey Vosper look. But it was featured in a Vosper advert in Janes so I'm not sure what type it was; I also think it was in the early 1970's.

Here is now the ASW-version represented by the last of the class F União (F45) as she appeared when completed in 1980. She ships the Australian developed and manufacured Branik Ikara SubRoc launcher on the fantail, thereby precluding the carrying of the second 4.5" gun as on the two GP-variants. She also features a substantially lengthened helipad, enabled by the fact that the reloads for the Ikara are just beneath it. Otherwise the differences are subtle. Four of this variant were completed.

Here is F União (F45):
