An American response to the IJN's Kii-class. Nice!

Here comes another installment of American horros; the 1940 12200t Flight Deck Cruiser CF-2. I consider it the more practical and good-looking of the three designs found in the Springstyles book #3. It has an overall length of 197,54m and a width of 27m. Speed is 33kts with a range of 10k nautical miles at 15 knots. Armament consists of 6x6"/47 guns in two triple turrets, 4x5"/38 guns in two twin mounts, 16x1.1" guns in four quad mounts and 8x.50 Cal M2s, though I have no idea on where they would be mounted as neither the superstructure nor the platforms jutting out of the flight deck are wide enough for AA guns to be mounted there. The air-group was to consist of 36 scout-bombers, and considering the design date of 1940, I made them SBDs.

Looks like a preliminary design for the Independence class, only utilizing the hull of a Brooklyn and borrowing the funnel style of Graf Zeppelin. Nice work!
