Howdy,

New ship, in 1958 under the SCB173 program, there were two variants of the Iowa class MACK conversion schemes, this is scheme 1. I chose to depict it in the 1959 planned view since in 1958 Regulus 2 was cancelled and they decided to alter the plan to include 12 Polaris launch tubes into the missile deck. The planned conversions for all four Iowa class ships was cancelled sometime in 1959 and the resources were diverted to finish the conversions of the Albany class guided missile cruisers.

Cool stuff. It would be great to see the large blank areas of the superstructure filled with more detail -- check the Albany class cruisers for idea of what to add
