For something that size to only have two Phalanx on it makes me wonder how easy would it be for someone to sink it?

Conceptual question: Why did you opt for the current layout of SPY-1 Panels? You will note that other than the Ticonderoga class, all AEGIS ships use arrays that are set 45° off fore-aft-port-starboard.

Edit: NOTE: I'm not saying your design is wrong, I'm just wondering if the hull type was already in service, and then adopted for the AEGIS cruiser roll.

The hull is from an older ship, but since it needed new cruisers quickly as possible, they used the old hull, and to save even more time, they took the layout of Tico ... and further developed it to specific requirements for just this ships!

Hmmm...seems rather like a tad overkill with six Phalanx systems, six(?) SPG-51s. I've come to like your design, Heuhen, but I afraid your weight calculations are quite far off. In other words, your design as it is now is not very weight efficient; redundant systems positioned in akward spots taking up much valuable space and weight. Yuo can have four SPG-51s and two Phalanxes, but they need to be placed in much more economical positions. That would be my five cents of advice.

swin_lad, if you're referring to the SPG-51s, please look closer at the deck elevation. Heuhen clearly indicates six units! Configuration is three forward, three aft in one+two arrangement.

AN/SPG-62. AN/SPG-51 was the old Tartar system, while the AN/SPG-62 is the AEGIS version, and yes there are differences between them (physical as well as electrical).
