SPY-2 isn't the VSR. It's a dedicated missile defense radar.

Both Hood (I think) and I have put a lot of work into radar sheets for the Royal Navy and USN; these sheets are complete or nearly so. Reproducing such work here is pointless.

@ timothyc: I thought so too, globalsecurity eas wrong on that one -.-

@ erikt: that's why I copied it all from those. IMO, nation specific sheets would be the best, but golly wanted 'general' sheets for the mainsite.

But, as said, I will stop working on this and do only the NL part, for the NL sheet I need those anyway.

I hope this small sheet is clear enough?
The red line is the marking for the deck level, and the above set (top and side) is with the crain door, and the one below is without.

didn't golly say the old VLS was good enough?
that said, I honestly have to say I don't like this one, it looks like one blurred line.

sometimes with smaller set of equipment you need to consider simplicity above all. Detailing is always good, but in pixel art it can easily go overboard and blur the actuall shape of the presented thing. If you insist on redoing the launcher sideways, try to do it as much as you can with plain black and grey. simple structures...with simple details. thats the key to shipbucket perfection ;)

I made this right after the new top view was made, simple modification of the old one. Now the other side view, showing 4 cells of a Mk41 block, will need some work as currently the cells end up meshed together according to the new top view.

My opinion is that mine is better. Because it is like the real deal, the basic thing looks like somebody lacked time to finish off its drawing.
It looks odd..
