I would like to do this aircraft but I'm a bit puzzled about how the do the pattern? Is there a drawing that would have that would be helpful to me?

I don't think the plaid would look very great in scale. you would not be able to get it to look the same. My suggestion would be to find a photo of the aircraft, preferably from some distance, and see how it looks to you, and then approximate it in your drawing.
