I got a suggestion on your carrier.
Duo the amount of space needed for cooling pipes(very large), APAR plates it interfaces and all other cabinets that come with it right in the same area.
I suggest to increase the space of your tower.
The forward plate has more space required beneath it then it can have right now.
Take the LCF tower, it has the top section for cooling, and the plates with everything underneath the plates (inner side).
Then below the top section(This part is the wider section) are 2 rooms for cabinets and other equipment, so that the APAR can use phase shift, and count up all the calculations for targets.
This is a large space.

Then with the Smart-l added on the same area. Meh...
Not even mentioning the commando space?(perhaps?) and bridge...

hmm. I guess that I have to remove that small room on top of the bridge then. if I do that, there is 1,5 floor level free for those systems. that's more then 3 times the space in the real APAR.... should be enough, I think.
btw, keep in mind that not the entire APAR tower is filled up in the LCF, as there is growth space for the APAR itself and an originally planned radar was not placed.

I have been in there. And all you saw where 4 large sections behind the plates. And large pipings for cool water.
Plus the radar rooms beneath it where stuffed up with cabinets.

mitch, I suppose this diagram shows that there is enough space now ;) even if the entire mast of the LCF was free for radar equipmen (which it isn't, as far as I know.) there is less space underneath it, but a lot more next to it.

The entire mast=apar and one cabinet for satcom.
And you forget some other factors.
The navigation radars. Maby uhf/vhf?
Air control, smart-L ontop of it, also requires quite a bit.
And maby satcom?
Where will those come? ;-)

Be happy you didnt pick aegis, that requires even more space.
Atleast the new norwegian frigates do, and the radar specialist on board there said on every other aegis does to.

the ship is not finished mitch. I am only defining the space right now. and as I said, even if the entire mast is..... so I calculated that in.

Glad to have spoken about this fact on MSN ;)

Hope to see the ship in the near future again, but then updated/finished!

finally I had time to fix some aircraft for the camelot! a top view is coming soon, but right now you guys can take a look at her already......
this aircraft is called topcat, as it was originally an replacement for the tomcat. during the designing process the specs were changed to an attacker with an fighter role, similar to the panavia tornado. this aircraft needed to be suitable for carrier ops and would need long range..... and she grew bigger and bigger.
sounds similar? looks similar? yeah, indeed, I mixed a bit of VFX contenders with the F-111B and got an way to big aircraft.... but still doable. it was weird to start production of an non-stealth swing wing fighter in 1995, but utopia hadn't got the technology during that time to match the bigger nations. THALES jamming equipment, large engines for supercruise (when the bomb load was not too heavy) and good pilots made these aircraft still an power to keep an eye on. the aircraft was fly by wire but of conventional design, and by that quite easy to fly, even with the largest loads. because of that, her good looks and the wide range of equipment she could carry, she was popular by both the pilots and the people.

from in 2010 the topcat 2 program started, which ended in 2016 with the introducing of the phoenix fighter, which would replace both the tomcat and the topcat. on first line units the aircraft was phased out in 2018, but on the training facilities and in china the type was still in use when the freedom forces were disbanded in 2020. after this all were replaced with UCAV's

(note: I will edit in an top view soon, have no time today or tomorrow to make one... after I have made that one, I will show her on board the Camelot as well.

Please don't call it top cat... please?
Because, well...:

Do you really want your plane to have that association? :P

why not? I know it isn't the best name, but it fit's in the name list of the grumman cat's, while the name tomcat comes from an general... (originally tom's cat or something like that)
