For months I've been trying to assist and advise Orionfield in regards to improving his technique, style etc. (btw. when I posted my first work almost 9 years ago, I received feedback, help and suggestions from something like 8 other Shipbucketeers - nowadays it's a success when a newbie's work is received with more than a single comment... what the...? ). I've spent hours and hours of time pointing styllistical errors, suggesting improvements, linking pictures of elements in question. I was making drawings where errors on his works were marked with numbered arrows and had accompanied text explanations (I have like a dozen of them in my files, possibly more I already deleted), even with links to FAQ/Tutorial section on our main site where explanations of some terms could be find (like 'heavy corners', ugh...). And over and over it was the same.
I'd wrote "there are heavy corners (link) here, here and here and in some other places" - next day he'd "correct it" - meaning: two of the marked corrected, third not, and five other unmarked untouched. If an error is specifically pointed out - he could correct it (or could not). If it's only generally mentioned ("these problems are there") - no chance at all.
I'd wrote "this part looks different" and provide photo (first from google). He'd wrote "thanks for the photo" and draw something that looks completely different.
I'd wrote "these two straight lines must be spaced apart to avoid double black line", he'd respond with drawing some two zigzags that would be no longer straight, and would be still a partial double black.
I'd wrote "repaint that part in lighter shade, because it's facing the light". Respone - none.
And such things repeat over and over again. Once they are sorted on one drawing. They appear on next one. Practically every damned time, over and over again.
Another thing: sources. Both from discussions on open forum and in the pm's (especially related to YAL-1), I got very strong and deep impression that Orionfield
would not bother to look for them himself. Like if it was my duty to look for his sources.
And speaking of YAL-1... my favourite thing. I wrote (literal quote):
"The logos behind cockpit are horrible - one color for... well, each color, please."
Orionfield's response:
"I cleaned up the (...) and the Logos."
And here are these "cleaned up" emblems:
Didn't bothered to check the left and middle one, but the rightmost is made of 51 (fifty one) shades in total - of 5, maybe 6 colors. Orionfield registered here 5 years ago. After that time he should already noticed that this seems bit excessive, don't You think?
I'll put it in other words. After 18 months, not only I don't see much genuine progress in his skills (and his own introduction as well as his personal website and other available information make any possibility of learning impairments not a plausible explanation), and what's worse I don't see any genuine good will and "duing his best" on Orionfields part. My personal perception of his attitude is "I'll effortlessly do 'something' and will wait just wait for some stupid schmuck to waste his time to check every detail of it, look for sources, so I wouldn't have to and basically do all work for me". I feel that my patience, my willingness to help and advise,
my good will has been abused by him.
So... You're not fond of something? So be it. I'm NOT going to apologize.

Nice work.
