A bit of an elephant in the room for SB, specially in the discord, how many of us would actually enter a proper Aircraft Carrier challenge (let's say WW2 era to encourage participation the most, we've been kind of avoiding the era anyways), if it lasted, say, 2 months instead of one? I know I'm not one to talk after I've not finished many challenge entries lately (too much time spent on this 1.5px=cm Pz.IV I still haven't finished) but you all know this is gotta happen someday.

Bring it on! If its before august...One last battle of the giants of the old generation

Even if it would be just few of us that can pull it of, it would be still great challenge!

There's no such thing as "nothing left to draw" If you can down 10 pints and draw, you're doing alright by my standards

A real one? Never built? AU? WWII only or also cold war?

(If I knew, I'd start drawing today!)

Cheers

No promises, but I will try if this becomes the challenge :P and Garlic, of course we are not going to tell in advance, that would be cheating :P

I would be tempted.

I agree a couple of months is needed for a really good carrier drawing with a top view. Having drawn a few carrier top views I can attest to the time consuming process, not so much the ship as all the kit that needs top-views.

Fully agree with this opinion. Top view is obviously interesting, but one needs to check in detail not all the stuff but if all items are correctly placed on the drawing, compared with the side view. I am currently working on a project like that and know what I'm speaking of... Many times you have to draw a thin black line to check and then delete it before it sticks onto the drawing...

This said, I would participate in such a challenge, but not if the top view is mandatory. My eyes with nearly 72 of age don't allow me such phantasies...

... Armoured cruisers ... real, planned, AU, what have you ... let's say from 1890 to 1945 ... lots of room for various ideas and interpretations ...

Parameters:
Armament: 5.5" to 12" (12" may be high, however the RN's Invincible's were originally conceived as 'dreadnought armoured cruisers')

Displacement not to exceed 20,000 tons

Belt armour (if any) not to exceed 8"
