More, yes, Irish Air Corps, probably not. The ones I drew, plus the ones that others have done, make up every aircraft type the air corps has ever flown. But I am going to be working on a lot of new drawings very soon.

Nice work

Orionfield
Why, please, tell me why you're doing this to me?
Below are just most striking problems I've noticed. (which means: this list is not exhaustive) :P

I'll tell you a secret. In SB/FD "white" color isn't really white and "black" color isn't really "black". Actual white is only for background, but "white paint" is in fact very light grey (some allowance is made for "sunlit" shade of white, which, esp. in the past, was indeed left "background" by some authors). Also, the actual black is only for ("solid") contours, and "black paint" is in fact farily dark grey.

Martinsyde A.2

1) For some reason "basic" white on rudder is ok, but on fuselage it's transparent;
2) I don't know the shape of it, but there's a lighter shade forward and aft of these windows, but not on them - are You sure they are not flush with fuselage?
3) Aaaaaargh... what are these multiple-black-lines meant to be? And why aren't these struts straight lines, but arcs?

Avro 621 / Avro 626

1) "White" story again - on 621 for some reason the "basic" shade is lighter ("background white") than the supposedly "actually lighter shade", and on 626 that "supposedly actually lighter shade" is missing completely,
2) By convention, panel lines and the like are drawn in DARKER shade than "main shade", not lighter (right now, the way it's painted, it suggests that these aircraft are black, with lots of thin silver stripes all over them).
3) This exhaust should have full contour.

Avro 631

1) To begin with - it has no shading at all,
2) Look point 2) above,
3) This tail strut should be outlined in black. Remember to avoid making double black line with rudder contour.
4) This wheel could be made more round,
5) This oleo/undercarriage strut should end in black or very, very dark shade (of whatever colour it's supposed to be),
6) I'm pretty sure they don't merge into one thing (or rather extend from one - like branches of the tree),
7) Too much black!
8) The contour of the fuselage is "over" the strut.

Avro 636

1) "Heavy corners" (there, and hell knows where else, where I haven't found them) - NO! NO! NO!
http://shipbucket.com/styleguide#21
2) And here there's no contour at all,
3) Look point 3) at Avro 631,
4) Point 2) From Avro 621 et al.
5) It has shading "on top", but not "on bottom",
6) Looks ugly. You sure it was such shapeless lump of metal?
7) Sooo much black!
8) Point 6) at Avro 631,
9) Something similar to point 8) at Avro 631,
10) See Point 1) at Avro 621/626

Vickers Vespa

1) "White"
2) Outline missing,
3) Heavy corners (more possible),
4) Contour missing,
5) Where's shading?
6) It's my sincere belief, that contours of these struts should be parallel to each other, and they should be straight lines, not waves,
7) I have a feeling this part should be convex, not concave (unless you have pictures showing otherwise),
8) It really looked like this?
9) IMHO these lines look hideous.

De Havilland DH.84

I surrender - that drawing is a grand symphony of heavy corners, double black lines, and every other problem I can imagine.
Funny thing: it has shading on fuselage, although most of it had square-ish cross section, which means that it don't need shading (except nose area), but engines, which are rounded - and so need shading, nave none. And there's shade cast by wings, but not by horizontal stabilizer. Sigh.

Miles Magister

1) Panel lines (point 2) at Avro 621/626)

Hawker Hind

0) There's shade cast by wings and horizontal stabilizer, but no shading of the fuselage (to show it's rounded cross-section),
1) Why wheels are missing top and bottom section of contour?
2) Heavy corners and double black lines,
3) Contour needed
4) Point 8) from Avro 631
5) Point 6) from Vickers Vespa

Hawker Hector

1) Contour needed,
2) Shade (to show rounded cross-section) needed,
3) Point 6) from Vickers Vespa

Slingsby Petrel

1) For some reason I think these were either straight lines or nice arcs, not ragged zigzags.

Slingsby Kite

1) WHITE!
2) Heavy corner,
3) See 1) at Petrel

BAe.125

To begin with: http://shipbucket.com/vehicles/5683
Quite good work, just some minor heavy corners and the like. (1)
But IT'S ALL WHITE (except shading under wings/horizontal stabilizer)! :(

Gulfstream

To begin with: http://shipbucket.com/vehicles/6102
1) Again, not bad, but still heavy corners,
2) or lack of corners
3) No, no gradients etc.
4) And no "real" black in stencils etc.

Learjet

1) WHITE!
2) Heavy corners/double black,
3) No corner where it should be,
4) No "real" black,
5) Strange shape.

Nice one.

Hopefully the FW190 A8 single seater model and the RAF Spitfires will be done...

Here's one that I've been sitting on for a bit. Added a couple more blank 727 Variants. Still need to do the -100 and -200 with winglets though. I also redid my earlier UPS 757, touching it up, and adding the newer paint scheme

Sorry to post twice, but I finished some more drawings.

Mexican Expeditionary Air Force Republic P-47D
[ img ]

US Air Force F-47D "Clear Wright Field Area" This aircraft was used to intercept general aviation aircraft that wandered into Wright Patterson Airspace between 1947 and 1948.
[ img ]

US Air Force QF-24A Banshee. After the creation of the Air Force in 1948, the A-24 Banshees (Army version of SBD Dauntless) were redesigned as F-24 Banshees. This aircraft was used by the Flight Test Division of Wright Field to test remote controlled aircraft. I am still trying to find other references of the DF-24B control aircraft, as well as regular F-24A's and F-24B's in USAF service.
