Nice work. My only complaint is the use of the old aircraft drawings which look strangely distorted when "landed"... I presume this is because whoever made them just tried to rotate my old "flying" versions and didn't draw the landed version from scratch (the only way to properly draw pixel aircraft in tail dragger mode vs. flying mode)

Wow! I missed this one. Marvellous work. It looks great.

A couple of points

1) needs some shading under the stern.

2) not sure you need a black line representing the knuckle under the bow.

3) no line needed on the skeg. That line would be obscured.

4) maybe state the camo used (measure21?)

5) the date needs to be more precise as her island was lengthened in sept 1946.

6) I think there should be shading under the radio antennae.

Really pleased to see this drawing on the boards. I started it a few years back but abandoned it due to lack of sources for the main deck details. Any plans of a top down view?

I think its measure 21 (navy gray).

I agree w all of Charybdis' points above.

The template title should read:
Shipcamouflage.com lists CVB-41 having "Measure 21" camouflage in 1945. By the time the ship would be launched, the US yards were using the late-war paint colors for Measure 21 so the ship would very likely be overall 5-N #7 ("navy grey"). Postwar, the ships began to be painted into the Measure 13 scheme (overall late-war Haze Grey), but I'm not clear on when this was started (if I had to give a year I would guess 1947). It's kind of up to you (as the drawer/researcher) to do the leg work to understand what color the ship would be in during 1946. My personal guess would be the Measure 21 navy grey.

But if this is truly Measure 21, the ship needs to be camouflaged in the dark grey of Navy Grey #7... right now it looks like haze grey which is not correct.

BTW, noticing some other small errors:

- shading on 5" gun mounts needs to be reversed on mounts facing aft
- are you sure there should be a slight highlight on the 5" guns? the gun mount shields have no forward-facing edge to catch the light...
- USN life rings were not painted red/white but rather all-white or matched to the underlying camouflage color
- are you sure of the boat type aboard this ship? I think it should be a 26' motor whaleboat and not a motor boat
- why are there sky lookout positions on the hangar deck near the AA guns? should these be mark 51 instead?

I think I would use a more rail-like color on the parts of the HF fan and associated rigging which overlaps the ship. Right now, the light gray jumps out in a way which probably isn't representative of real life.

I'll wait for more learned comments from others. Other than that, it looks fine to me
