Thank you for not submitting this to the challenge
Anyways this is what i've been long waiting for the bucket, american carriers in their finests. I've always been fond of the Essex modifications. Great work
This is a lovely addition.
I'm no USN expert so can't add to the helpful commentary much, but having drawn a couple of carrier 3-views now, I can attest to the hard work and time required to get them to look this good.
One small nitpick, I think there is a newer and better Sea King around. The version here is an older drawing and quite rough and I think does not represent the USN's SH-3s very well, which I don't think had the nose or dorsal radomes.

Yeah, nice work! just a few minor remarks:
- I am not certain I agree with the way you shaped the hull. The propeller shafts seem to angle upwards a lot, suggesting that the machinery is both very far aft and very high in the hull on this ship. The bilge strake seems extremely small as you put all the rounded (shaded) part below the bilge keel, and the slightly bulbous bow shape seen on the drydock pictures on navsource is completely missing on your drawing.
- Above the water, the same issue remains somewhat. the large overhanging bow and stern and gun sponson forwards seem almost hidden away by lack of shading. Try to set a rule for what is shaded and what is not, because right now it seems a bit of a mismatch between what is shaded even between the 2 sides of the ship.
- This might be just me, but the corsair next to the crusader.... one of those looks scaled or shaped wrong, it is as if they were drawn in slightly different styles or scales.
- Check parts. The only one I really spotted was the SPS-10 antenna, but there might be more. Also, when updating parts, keep an eye out for parts that look wrong next to their updated parts, on some of my recent drawings I ended up redrawing almost all parts because they looked off compared to the rest of the drawing once I started detailing.

It is perfect, beautiful and realistic. Look 20 seconds into the drawing and you are catapulted for a strike mission over 'Nam.
Just a small detail I forgot to tell you about. I think the main mast should be black (please check the photos). Otherwise everything is perfectly well done. Amazing.
