I have up until now used old MS Frontpage and Notepad as editor for my website "Kustflottan". I am planning to refurbish the site and make it look moore nicely and modern, similar to a Jane´s FS book. But I don't know what program to edit the page in as I feel both Frontpage and notepad are to hard work to make anything nicley in...

Do you have any suggestions for a good (free) HTML editor, preferely one which is not an online editor.

I use Aptana Studio 2 at home (where I don't have costly software paid for by my employer). It's got quite a few useful features and is a pretty good free software overall.

As far as I understand it's sort of coder oriented. I don't know if it's a right tool for you but it's worth trying IMO

You can also do Cascading Style Sheets. That allows for super custom sites ;)
