Just like with the Latorre, this one was also requested by "popular" demand. The Minas Gerais was the first dreadnought built for a South American nation. Brazil ordered three dreadnought from British shipyards. The first two, being the Minas Gerais and the Sao Paulo. The third, the Rio de Janeiro was bought by the Ottoman Empire, and later seized by Britain and commisioned as the HMS Agincourt. The building of the Minas Gerais resulted in a naval arms race in South America, involving Brazil, Argentina and Chile. All nations ordered dreadnoughts, and would soon regret buying them, as the costs of operating them was immense.

I did what I could, with very limited sources available.

Wish I had those line drawings when I first made the drawing. I only had the top down view and the internal one. I did at least find a site with this extremely detailed model of the Minas Geraes. That one helped a lot.
