Another one of my fictional Japanese battleships, when I was drawing this I took a lot of influence from BB1987s great looking Kamiyama class battleships that he drew for the Treaty battleship challenge a while ago I was also influenced by the Hiraga Treaty Battleship Design which I have a personal soft spot for.

my first stab at doing a British ship, it's not too bad but there's a lot of areas I can see that need improvement

I like it!
Equipment looks spot on, armament seems good for a heavy cruiser of the period. I would question the lack of torpedo tubes but the RN was always off and on regarding whether heavy cruisers should have them.

The forward superstructure tower is less British in style but seems a good improvement over the County class towers with streamlining and good provision of spaces for the bridges and wheelhouse.

After I completed my drawing of the t39 torpedo boats, I decided that I wanted to do something else in the German style, so I decided what if Germany had had the ability to build heavy cruisers in the 1920s, as stupid as that sounds I ran with it and this is what I produced.

Displacement - 8,595 tonnes standard
Main belt - 4 inches
Conning tower - 9 inches
Deck - 2 inches
Speed - 32 knots
Range - 7,000nm at 15 knots
Main battery - 4x2 8.3 inch/45
2nd battery - 2x2 3.5 inch/45

Good looking cruiser. The secondary AA looks a bit light with only four guns. Would it be possible to extend the aft superstructure enough to fit another twin 3.5", superfiring over X turret?

(The Germans used that configuration on the SP-1-3 scout cruisers)

it's a possibility, I am thinking about doing a refitted version of this ship at some point so I'll probably take that into consideration.
the whole CA thing is a bit of a habit I've got in to recently, I know the Germans never use that kind of prefix for the ships, I just do it so I can keep track of what ships I'm doing and unfortunately I kind of apply to all things I draw, when I really shouldn't.

Nice work, its a nice and plausible design.
I think if your move the aft tower forward slightly another 105mm mount will fit in.
