Hey! Dont diss the 387! There are quite a few good looking modern trucks, like the Kenworth T800, and the Mack Vision. The Freightliner Cascadia looks pretty good as well.

What's the point of questioning other people's choice of software if you don't know shit about them or their computers?

True, I don't know much about you or your computer, but I do know that Norton hits your computer's performance harder than pretty much all other Anti Virus softwares out there and harder than most of the stuff it's supposed to protect you against, is the most targeted AV on the market, the one with the most loop holes, has a history of transmitting user data onto the net without said user knowing it or being able to do squat about it and it takes a specialised piece of third party software to completely remove it. (That makes it, by definition, a virus btw.)
This is the case no matter what computer you're using.
The only reason why it's so widespread is because it comes bundled with Windows.

Not in the long run. I've been there and I choose to partially sacrifice the performance (which is not as horrible as you're describing it) but have one thing less to worry about. In the end it's all a matter of opinion (and this thread is not a place to discuss it)
