Hi there.
I am new to this excellent site, found it on a search looking for information on the motor ship Jutlandia ( 1934).
I have seen some photos out there which makes me think she was constructed with an icebreaker bow?
Can anyone confirm that ?
Also, if anyone has any anecdotal information or good photos about this famous ship, I should be delighted to hear from them.
Any help would be be much appreciated, as I hope to write an article on the shortly.
best regards,
John Martin ( retired British Master)
Hi John,
welcome in the forum!
About the Jutlandia I searched for her pictures and I can confirm that she has an Ice-resistant bow. I would say also that it was a quite typical design.
If you would provide some good side view I could try to draw...
It's not an IB bow, but a Maier Bow. Looks like an IB bow, but it's not reinforced.
