True, I don't know much about you or your computer, but I do know that Norton hits your computer's performance harder than pretty much all other Anti Virus softwares out there and harder than most of the stuff it's supposed to protect you against, is the most targeted AV on the market, the one with the most loop holes, has a history of transmitting user data onto the net without said user knowing it or being able to do squat about it and it takes a specialised piece of third party software to completely remove it. (That makes it, by definition, a virus btw.)
This is the case no matter what computer you're using.
The only reason why it's so widespread is because it comes bundled with Windows.
No wonder I've never been able to remove it! D:<
