 when I first started drawing this I thought it was going to turn out really bad, but to my surprise it actually turned out quite decent

it's when you add details a drawing goes from just a drawing to a good drawing, the last bit is mostly color and shadow and not overdo it

There is some misalignment with the portholes at the bow (suggesting an unusual big step down of the whole deck forward of the forwardmost gun muzzles), but except that I'd say it turned out quite good, a sort of lovechild between the Kongo and Fuso class.

 thanks for letting me know about the portholes I've just noticed that myself looking at it, I'm also currently working on a late 1920s refit of the same ship  which is going to have a pagoda and that's going to be  a real pain in the ass to draw

This looks a pretty good design overall.
As heuhen says, its often the details that bring a drawing to life.
