Yes, the strange duplication of efforts here is a bit counterproductive and seems weird to me. If you guys are intent on drawing the US battleships, why not work together on them vs. producing two threads of parallel work?

Obviously anyone can draw whatever ship they want though. It's not a huge deal but wondering why this was the chosen path.

My reason for the remaster is to put the new and proper parts, guns directors and radars, as they did not exist when I first drew them, but also to give them the proper colors, seeing as the standard SB grey and red is falling out of favor. I also wanted to brin them up to my new standards attained with the New Mexico design proposals.

Addendum: I just took the plunge and resized all portholes to the new 3x3 size and shaded them in a less "garish" light blue.

I've added the USS Arizona from 1916, 1918 and 1925.

Before I do the 1941 Arizona I would like to get some answers to further cement what I've read online. As we all know, American capital ships were painted in Measure 1, that is dark grey 5-D, and the mast and superstructure above the funnel tops in light grey 5-L. Now, here is where the complecation sets in, some sources say the Arizona was either fully painted in Measure 1A, that is sea blue 5-S that replaces the dark grey 5-D. Documentation exists of Kimmel ordering 5-S for Battleship Row. One of the surivors of the Arizona says he was on the painting team, and that the hull, the turrets and the barbettes were painted in 5-S, whilst the rest remained 5-D. What I need is some input from one of you if you know something about this subject.

I haven't read up on the Arizona that much, but here's a 105 page thread on ModelWarships and I'm fairly sure it's discussed at length. Like most of these subjects/arguments, there probably isn't a concrete answer, so you'll have to pick one version you like and go with that (OR draw alternative variants)

- sponson's for single 76mm or quadruple 28mm still empty during the attack !
- some 0,5"MGs around mast...(3 (no 4 ! confirmed by pics) on atop aft-mast, 2 amid forward-mast, 2? around funnel, and ? maybe ? 2 or 4 in the (flag ?) bridge, dubious, difficult to see on pics)
