I'm not really interested in this challenge... but I do have something old on my computer.... that I gave a little update.
but at least I can post a drawing.
This is a drawing from my AU Caledonia!
Normally I do not withe a long text, but I can try!

Conquer class
in the early 30's Caledonia started to look at replacement for there aging Dreadnought-battleships. The Navy wanted something that wasn't to big, that had a descent allround firepower, so it could be used in various task, and not only be a "all" big gun ship, with a decent fleet speed and range. The challenge to design that class of ships, was given to the Navy engineer and Havok industris main Naval shipyard. The class was launched throughout the 40's.
Design
4 ship in the class, the last ship in class had a different AA layout than the first ship in class. as Designed she was to carry: 2 twin 15" and 1 triple 15" long barreled Havok main guns with limited AA capability; 2 triple 7" duel purpose guns from Beffer Industry; 8 twin 5" Havok duel purpose guns; 10 quad 40mm Bofors; 43 single and twin 20mm and variuse handheld guns. later some of the 20mm was replaced by 40mm bofors.
A steam powered turbines delivered power to 4 screws giving the class a max speed around 28 to 31 knots, depending on which ship in class. with a range of above 12.000 nm.
The class was a bit unique armored:
- the belt armor was of various thickens, thickest parts was over the magazine and main part of machinery, other places it was of a thinner armor,
- box armor over some vital areas, but not everywhere, some places it was only protected armor layout.
- Decks went from Normal deck to protected deck to fully armored decks. some places there was multiple layer of armor plating.
-main part of the ship was divided up in many protected compartments and rest was just of a standard compartment layout, many of the lower deck compartments was designed to hold an Negative pressure, to try to reduce flooding-speed (and experiment the Navy did on this class)
History
Launched trough the 40's, they had a somewhat long service. Normally they would be operating in Caledonia water's, but time to time they was sendt out to support allied forces. they was seen in artillery support in the Atlantic and in the Pacific water, where these 15" long barreled guns showed of it's ability to hit accurate compared to other guns and it's long range capability. HMoCS Conquest was the only ship in the class that engaged a Japanese force, HMoCS Conquest and it's escort was outnumbered by the Japanese force, but in the retreat battle where HMoCS Conquest covered it's escort, delivered serious damage to the Japanese force, before it managed to disconnect, HMoCS Conquest received some damaged but non that put the ship out of the action.
After WW2 they saw various extensive upgrades, here guns was totally redesigned and modernized with new electronic and control systems, and all ships received improved radars. After all the upgrades two of them was put in a Caledonia Task force under command by FN. They saw action in Korea, giving support fire, they was also placed close to Vietnam, but never saw action during that war, they main task was to be an emergency support flotilla if US-forces needed extra support, if they had to pull out under fire, but was sone pulled back to Caledonia water. In the late 70's they was mothballed, at the main Navy base, docked in the old Navy dry-dock that wasn't in use, these docks was emptied for water and all four ships was welded to the dock, from then on they was used as barracks and training facility. during those years, they was placed there, they got refitted with new radars, for training purpose, as an navy officer said: "she have nice big platforms, perfect to place things on, with minimum effort!"
in the late 80's an idea among the community of having a navy day, where people could come on a cruise with Navy ships, was put forward. In the early 90's the parlament put up an separate budget for these navy days cruise. In 1995 the navy announced that together with the Navy museum and with a couple investors and full service and support from Havok industry and Beffer industry, Battleship HMoCS Conquer will be serviced and restored to working order and be used on Navy days cruise, where people will get the experience, Havok and Beffer was to restore it's guns with a more modern and safer weapons system. the biggest changes was done to the main guns, since there was a lot of space in them, Havok equipped them with programmed industrial robots that could do almost all heavy task inside the turret and thus reduced the risk to crew members, a system that was more than good enough for use under navy day cruise.
