Good afternoon, Heuhen:

One question, What kind of propulsion you are using for your Legend class frigate? Is it a kind of waterjet? Thanks and cheers.

Simplified explanation: yes! Sort of

The more advanced explanation, I do not have the link for it, Erik- might have. But I am going for an simplified version.

Note: what can't be seen on the drawing, is that there is an small propeller ducked in-between both "trusthers" for low speed operation

I assume heuhen refers to the AWJ-21, about which more here: (PDF)

About the speed, I am highly skeptical (perhaps possible, but hugely expensive for no good reason).

Thanks!

Speed: I wasn't 100% sure about it either, I was debating with my self, either 32-33 knots or 35-36 knots, I have changed it back to 32 knots

Juno class

Multi Mission support ship.

The Navy wanted a support ship, that could assist in other operation. But in the end she was most of here time used as a fleet tanker, and very rarely used in other type of support mission.

Juno class was basically equipped and constructed after commercial standards, but are designed to operate at speed up to 27 knots, thanks to Navy's most powerful turbine, the J5-class turbine, with the addition of 2 large diesel engines. with a full size hangar with workshop and manufacture capability and fully equipped hospital with space for 100 patients. A Ro-Ro deck and container deck and 6 seperate fule tanks for aviation fuel and ship fuel, she was capable give most ships and land recourse service.

-------------

Speed: Test speed 29,2 knots, normal operation max speed: 27 knots
Range: 20000 Nm

Capacity:
- Tanks for diesel oil, aviation fuel, fresh water

Drawing updated:

- enlarged the flight deck by a couple of meters
- increased the hull depth with around a meter.
- increased the hull high above water by some
- added a "sort off" beam around the center of the ship right under the ramp, to give better protection toward the dock when she is docked, but also as an part of the hull strength.
- gave the bulb a minor face-lift... literally... I lifted it up a couple pix.
- added and adjusted minor details.

update V.2:
- added additional beam, after ace. suggestion. with some addon

If someone have a better propeller...

That Chinook flight deck looks somewhat alarming. Very attractive otherwise.

how big should it be, I can move the structure more forward, to make the deck bigger, or just enlarge the aft portion of the hull, by some meters. thanks
