I'm glad you're keeping this up, Tris. This sub looks very reasonable, if a bit overarmed with all those torpedo tubes.

I don't find that wrong. we operated with 8 tubes and up to 14/16 torpedoes on kobben class here in Norway and she was only 47 meter long, even Ula class have 8 tubes and normally 14 torpedoes, 18 in wartime and she is only 59 meter.

this submarine is over 100 meter... classic attack submarine, and a torpedo as a bunk-buddy is always nice!

Princess Erica Junko-class battleship

Designed from the experienced gained by the Nucadia class battlecruisers, the Erica Junko class was a vast improvement over Antara's previous battleships and at the time they were the world's most powerful.

The Ericas mounted triple 406mm/50s, which fired 'super-heavy shells' which gave her excellent penetration and ballistics. Her secondary battery consists of ten twin duel purpose 127mm/45s. Her initial designs featured a mixed battery of 152mm mounts, which were eventually ditched.

She was originally designed to go 30 knots, but the navy refused to trade for anything less than a 14" belt, and thus her designed speed was 27 knots, however she reached on average 28.4 knots on trials. Like with the Nucadia class battlecruisers, she featured a set of spare rudders which had the bonus effect of increasing her turning speed.

Cool stuff.

Only a few comments:

1. Dazzle camouflage schemes (while intended to be consistent across the ship) were never actually painted that perfectly on the ship. They'd get close but achieving the level of perfection you've got here is a little unrealistic. ;) USN SHIPS-2 instructions mention "the camouflage need not be exact or carried into corners", so remember that there will be areas that don't match the splinter pattern perfectly. That said I don't know how perfectly it was done in other navies and can only speak to what I've read/observed in USN practice.

2. I'd make the antenna whip outriggers bracketed to the funnels about half that size horizontally.

3. The TDY jammer you have mounted to the front of the pilothouse on the last version is blocked forward by the Mark 25 radar dish on the director ahead of it, and the companion "sword" monitoring antenna below it needs to be placed in a position where it will be totally shielded from the jammer emissions. Ahead of the conning tower would work, or you could move the jammer assembly itself to a small platform on one of the funnels (probably better choice). These were trainable jammers that would be aimed down the bearing of approaching enemy aircraft (or ships) so they need to have good arcs. Early installations were fixed screens such as that seen on either side of the Iowa's air defense levels before its final wartime refit.

4. You have booms for boats on the late versions but no obvious boats - a ship of this size would have at least a whaleboat on each side somewhere.

5. You're missing booms for streaming the aircraft recovery mats aft.

6. A single pole mainmast is not enough to support the heavy SP fighter direction radar - you need a small tripod or a thicker pole mast. Look at the designs fitted to New Jersey and Wisconsin for an idea of how to create a heavy tripod, or look at the late-war cruiser designs (Juneau/Fargo/Oregon City) for an idea of how to size a thicker pole mast to support it.

KOBBEN didn't have reloads, so what she had in the tubes was what she had to play with.

ULA can carry up to 14 weapons (8 in tubes plus 6 reloads).

Also I've edited my previous class with the suggestions by Colo, excluding the camo. I'll be sure to apply the camo suggestion in upcoming drawings.

KOBBEN didn't have reloads, so what she had in the tubes was what she had to play with.

I rechecked my information that I was told:

Jobben class sometimes operated with torpedoes laying on the deck, apparently the at one time had 1 or 2 torpedoes in the corridor between torpedo room and C&C, for only the center tubes. The comment on usability was: "with difficulty"

Ula class was described to have 6 reloads, but had additionally spacing, mounting for up to 4 more on the deck 2-3 in the torpedo room and 1-2 in the corridor (with Difficulty for the corridor torpedoes) total 18 torpedoes

Cascadia class heavy cruiser

The Cascadia class was Antara's first entry into the new cruiser designs that emerged from the Entarro Naval Treaty. Original drafts from 1918-1922 envisioned the class as a lightly armored and armed scout cruiser, but it was eventually decided they wanted a cross between an armored cruiser and fast cruiser. Cascadia thus featured a 100mm belt, 2x3 203/50mm guns (which were replaced with 203mm/55s in 1929)and a triple 610mm torpedo launcher on each side as well as a speed of 33.4 knots on trials. Cascadia was also the last Antaran cruiser to mount torpedo tubes, as they were removed in 1927.

Antara had a policy of operating its older cruisers in the Atlantic during WW2, and as such most of the Cascadias served in the Atlantic Fleet for most of the war, Rica being the only one to have sunk in that theater. Shawville was pulled out the Atlantic in 1943 (she still had her Atlantic camoflauge) and transferred to the Pacific in time for the Battle of Tuscadia, which resulted in her demise. She was crippled by cruiser Choukai and scuttled by ARS Veswood, who in turn was also sunk by the same cruiser.

Following the defeat of Germany in 1945, Isla, St Vincent and Cascadia went on to serve in the Pacific until the end of the war. The remaining ships were sold to foreign navies in 1948.
