A numerically important italian gun, which was already obsolete when it was introduced in 1901. Cannone da 149/35.
A gun without any recoil system (a pair of ramps were used to absorb the recoil), but with a good range (unfortuantelly the shells had an awful dispersion, the precision was bad, due imperfections of the shell, not of the gun itself). It was used in WWI, the invasion of Abyssinia, the Spanish Civil War, and in almost all the fronts involving the italian army in WWII. Shown as it was in the ill conducted campaign against Greece in 1941, and as it was in a fixed position with an armoured dome of the crown type (without central pivot) in the western italian Alps before WWI.
