Very nice additions, the Bolivian AU is certainly interesting.

Nice work, guys. Especially love that Portuguese Barracuda, BK :)

Okay, back to Bolivia part 2. Hugo Banzer Suárez spent several years consolidating his rule, as IRL. Having cut ties with the Eastern Bloc, serviceability of the Soviet-supplied equipment became difficult. Banzer offered the whole lot to the USA in 1974, in return for a similar amount of American gear. President Ford agreed and from 1975 deliveries started, with the Soviet aircraft being sent to Area 51 and replacing those loaned by the Israeli Defence Force.

Cessna A-37B Dragonfly, taking over training/light attack role and still in service today after 42 years.

The T-54's were also traded for a similar number of M48A1 Pattons:

With help from Israeli Military Industries, in the late 80s the force was partially brought up to M48A5 standard with the fitting of an L7 105mm main gun and Continental AVDS-1790-2AG V12 diesel engine. A further upgrade ten years later added passive IR and laser rangefinder fire-control, along with an Israeli-designed reactive armour package.

After seeing the 747-10 by Toxic Loki, I decided to do something similar but with the boeing 747SP.

Hi, Llamaman! I was making also a Bolivian Armed Forces, but with a different approach: soviet, czech and chinese hardware. And the riverine navy (main force and base over the amazon basin instead over Lake Titicaca) with a mixed breed (american and russian) muscle. But certainly, your composition is much more realistic. Cheers.

I hopefully got the Swedish markings right.

Pakistani one, I am not too sure about, as this is my first time doing aircraft operated in Central Asia/Indian subcontinent.

Let your imagination run wild, reytuerto my good chap! I'm only doing this Bolivian stuff as part of a much larger South American AU. I'm keeping most countries largely similar as IRL but have some major changes planned for Chile, Brazil and Argentina.

But back to Bolivia. The FAB carried out a limited modernisation of its F-5 fleet in the late-90s. Dubbed the F-5M by Bolivian forces, it incorporated an Elettronica RWR on the fin and replaced the radar with APG-69. No other changes were made, save integration of the Matra R550 Magic II in place of the AIM-9D.

Although loved by its pilots, the ageing airframes and lack of J65 spares dictated the need for an A-4B replacement by 1998. Eighteen AMX attack aircraft were ordered from Brazil, being armed with M39 20mm cannons in the nose, bombs, rockets, Magic II missiles and a modified version of the Argentine Martin Pescador ASM equipped with IR guidance.
