Hello everyone!
First and foremost, a glorious 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution to all!
On this day most worthy of celebration by all progressive minds willing to work towards the ultimate goal of the Socialist Revolution, let us all reflect on the accomplishments of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and first and foremost the Soviet proletariat it represents.
In the 100 years of its existence, the Soviet Union, as the concrete realization of the Marxist-Leninist revolutionary ideal, has transformed a medieval country into one of the two leading powers in the world, standing toe to toe with the whole of the capitalist imperialist world to spread the principles and achievements of the proletarian revolution beyond its erstwhile borders, for the benefit of all the world's peoples united in one international worker's society.
Driven by the inherent justness of that Socialist system and by the dedication of our glorious forefathers, the heroic men and women of the Bolchevik movement and the Soviet Union have stood, time and again, to preserve the ongoing revolution against the rushing waves of reactionary violence, be it fomented by the remnant of a dying Russian empire, by revisionist forces within, by the Fascist aggressors past and present, or by the unceasing imperialist assaults of the capitalist conspiracy, and against all odds, to forward the cause of the downtrodden masses at home and abroad!
That great experiment in furthering the unstoppable, obstinate march of history has remained true to its central mission of bringing the whole of mankind to its deserved state of prosperity and development, free from exploitation and oppression, delivers its promises day after day. It shines on like the guiding light to a better future for all of mankind, overcoming overwhelming odds and unspeakable hardships, still stands fast to this day, that we can be here together, on this very day, to celebrate its accomplishments!
But bear in mind, dear comrades, that even now, despite all these accomplishments, the challenges facing the Communist cause and the Soviet Union are as daunting as ever. Always desperate to invent new subterfuges to conceal its reactionary and predatory intent, the imperialist forces of the world keep pushing against the bulwarks of the Party and the Soviet people, threatening war, instigating dissent, fomenting discontent, revisionism, individualism and all forms of counter-revolutionary attitudes in an unceasing bid to shatter the unity of the revolutionary forces.
Be wary, my good Soviet men and women, and all our comrades from abroad who have joined us in this glorious celebration, be cautious, all you footmen of the Revolution, be you farmer or soldier, worker or clerk, each of you an indispensable part in the great engine of human progress that is the revolutionary state, for the agents of bourgeois imperialism will spare no effort, and balk at no ignominy, to turn each and every one of you loyal communists against the cause of the world proletariat, or failing that, destroy our benevolent and peaceful Union where it stands! Remember that in their bourgeois greed, they would not hesitate an instant before setting the whole world ablaze, if they could be assured to wipe us all and our accomplishments from the face of the earth, if only they could believe that the communist man of the future would not arise from the ashes!
Let it not be said that I will only bring your spirits down with talk of doom and gloom. Nuclear annihilation is not on today's agenda, thanks to the unrelenting work of the committed defenders of the Union, the Party and the People, and even if it is one day, I know that we will prevail! We are, each and every one of us, the beating heart of the world's revolution! Soviet citizens, and comrades in arms from all over the world, be proud of your place in the most powerful drive towards progress humanity has ever known!
Here in this great revolutionary city, dedicated to the memory of the great Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, and so dear to my heart as a communist and as a man, I am happy to congratulate you all for the accomplishments of the past, exhort you to rush to meet the challenges of the future, and invite you to spare a moment of the present to celebrate the glorious revolutionary accomplishments of our forefathers, among the prestigious members of our Party, our armed forces, and all contributing members in this magnificent achievement of humanity that is the Soviet Union.
Long live Red October! Long live the revolution!
Opening dedication of former chairman of the Leningrad City Council Vladimir Yakovlev, Leningrad, November 5, 2017
A view of the Admiral Kuznetsov nuclear cruiser taken during the naval parade celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution in Leningrad on the 5th of November 2017, which the ship was leading around the Kronshtadt island before sailing up the Lena and anchoring alongside the Petrovskaya embankment near the preserved Aurora cruiser, where it served as open ship for the rest of the festivities.
Its sister-ship within sub-class Project 1144.4 Yuri Andropov being already in dry-dock for the major overhaul bringing it up to Pr.1144.5M standard, the Kuznetsov was one of the older ships taking part in the parade in Leningrad, standing in stark contrast with the brand-new Pr.2142 cruisers and the larger assortment of new-generation ships.
Note: apologies for the extended absence and the meager posting here. I hope it is clear enough that the above is entirely in-universe and doesn't hurt anyone's sensibilities.
Yes, I will be back with more constructive postings in the near future, although I cannot guarantee a release rate anywhere near what I achieved last year. Stay tuned!
