I have to question the reasoning behind designing and marketing a third western VLS system of equivalent dimensions. Arguably even Sylver was a dubious prospect after Mk 41 already had substantial market penetration, unless you're aiming to market to nations that would not be able to secure a Mk 41 or (or Sylver) export license.
K-VLS is another VLS with similar dimensions, and is intended for launching Korean missiles. Same goes for the new Chinese universal VLS. The W-VLS is similar in that it is intended for launching Windermerian missiles.

That is a fair point. The French wanted Sylver so they could Europeanize EU navies instead of being tied to "American" systems and forced to buy American to use the Mk 41 (dimensions of the launcher cell and the ejector buckets are totally different. ESSM will not fit Sylver; though ASTER will fit the Mk 41.). If they could sell Sylver, they would take the EU market away from American vendors. And to be honest, the Mk 41 has some defects. Not as many as Sylver and certainly not as many as the Chinese or Russian systems, but as a VLS it still is a damage control problem. It could be "improved". And the Japanese and the Koreans would be the logical improvers.

The Saint Vincent Class frigates were developed to replace the Saint Martin Class frigates, which were commissioned in the early 1980's and are nearing the ends of their service lives in the late 2000's. The Saint Vincent Class features a reduced radar cross section compared to earlier frigates of the Royal Windermere Navy, as well as a new integrated mast system. The lead ship of the class, the HMWS Saint Vincent, was commissioned in 2011.
