Long time since I posted my late drawings. Here comes something newer I had in plan before, but I didn't had blueprints.
Here is the
FAP 1820 4x2 truck, produced from 1962 until 1980's. Due the industrial growth in former Yugoslavia in late 50's, there was a need for stronger domestic truck. In that period strongest model produced by FAP was 7GV1 licensed from Saurer. The new model, FAP 18B (later known as FAP 1820B) was based on previous Saurer, but some significant changes. The truck cab was modification of cab from Italian OM Super Orione. FAP bought the cab production line from OM due they ceased production of Super Orione. The biggest problem was the engine. FAMOS had license for weaker Saurer engines, and both Saurer and OM did not sell the license for new more powerful engines. The solution was British Leyland PO 680 engine. The license for engine was bought in combination with 150 city buses for Belgrade public transport.
FAP 1820 was primary used as lorry and dump truck (FAP 1820 BK), but also semi-trailer truck (FAP 1820BT). The version produced for Yugoslav peoples army was 4x4 semi-trailer truck (FAP 1820BST).
