MC27J Pretorian, in service with air force, four aircraft in line. This is high modified, plug & play C27J standard tactical airlifter, the permanent modification are the presence of the electro optical turret under the nose (Wescam MX15), enhanced generators, additional chaff/flare dispenser, a robust radio and data link communication suite, small cockpit modifications that allow crew to interact with new onboard systems (sensor and weapons), and the new “stealth” low visibility livery.
In this configuration the primary mission in infiltration/exfiltration and general support of special operation force.
With weapons kit, bought by air force in number of three, transformed the aircraft in multi mission gunship. The kit consist in all plug & play system, based on standard pallets and connection.
The kit consist, internaly, in one 463L pallet with tre operation console (one for mission commander, two for sensor/weapons operator, aka C3 Pallet Kit), one pallet with ATK GAU-23 Bushmaster 30mm automatic cannon with ammunition magazine, and a third pallet with 30mm ammunition reserve, positioned on the rear ramp, there is a ten tube launcher for GBU-44/B Viper Strike.
Externally, under wings, there are two pylons, typically carried the rack for four HellFire missile (planned Spike NLOS), and the Elt EDGE escort jammer pod for self defense, on the side door, on the left are present the barrel of GAU-23 with his fire control and designated system, a Wescam MX20HD turret, and on the right there is a pod with Elta ELM 2060 SAR/GMTI radar (similar to SABIR system for C130).
The mission are close air support, in support of conventional and special operation force, ISR (with his two flir, gourd surveillance radar pod and onboard ESM/ELINT system), and C3 for special force, also with only C3 Pallet Kit.
