Thanks all, I may attempt some versions of the San Juan next... currently awaiting some Floating Drydock plans of the Oakland. I'm getting a bit tired of these ships and am ready to start work on something new though!!
*Votes for a conclusion to the
Washington drawings, or perhaps a Colo version of the SoDaks*
I'm not sure why you're so interested in seeing the rest of the BB-56 variations; it really isn't that much different from BB-55 at all. The only difference I think most people would even be able to spot is BB-56's lack of a shielded platform around the fire control tower and an SK (instead of SK-2) radar on the mainmast. The rest of the changes I've identified are so small most of you wouldn't be able to spot them. I drew Washington as it appeared when it fired on and sank the Kirishima (arguably its most famous accomplishment); I probably won't bother drawing the rest of the tiny iterations.
My focus next will either be on some of the early war destroyer units, the pre-war heavy cruiser wartime refits, or maybe some of the Standard battleship refits. Of particular interest to me are also the late-war Gearing class radar pickets, but first I want to draw some stuff that has never been drawn before - everything I've made in the last few years has been a redraw of a redraw.
The South Dakotas are interesting but I probably won't draw them. I want to focus on some of the lesser known ships (like the early DDs) that don't get any attention around here.
