Thanks, it wouldn't be the 747 without a PanAm paintscheme!

Next, seems my fokker-50 insommnia was just an early warning of the flu. I've got some fever and I didn't even realize it until today  . Anyway, couldn't get any sleep yet so in the meantime here is another jet, a very early and quite unsuccesful one.

Convair CV-880:

Love the Pan Am schemes. Tempted to do an AU -8 with a what-if Pan Am scheme.

Info for Convair 880:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convair_880

Quite beautiful aircraft, but unsuccessful. An interesting detail is that GE CJ-805 turbofan had the fan at the rear of engine instead of usual front and was a derivative of the famous J79.

It's amazing how productive you can be when your ill, I've done that myself, been feeling bad but somehow drawing takes your mind off things.
The CV-880 looks good.
What's the purpose of the dorsal spine? Is it aerodynamic or some sort of cable run?

I'd like to but I'm having an hard time finding any decent schematic for the 990. The 880 itself was an hard search already.

That turbofan powered the 990 however, the 880 is turbojet only.

It houses extra instrumentation. The FAA asked for additional antennaes after production had already started. In order not to be forced to rip apart the center section of the fuselage Convair just added it inside that hump.

The "hump" on the Convair hosts the ADF and VOR antennas.
Very well done Sir, very well done. What other airliners can you draw... maybe all the Challengers/CRJs?

I'm not considering the other CRJs for now, the various ideas I have in my mind right now are focused on other models. I'm considering finishing the A320s powerplants (I've mentioned that a few posts ago in my NEOs entry), the unbuilt 727-300, the unbuilt 747-500,-600, and -X, the MD-11 (which I have as a WIP since ages), P&W motorizations for the standard A330s, the A330NEOs, maybe the 757-300. But that's something that might change as well.

Meanwhile, here is another PanAm paintscheme:
[ img ]
N724PA plane served with Singapore Airlines from 1977 to 1984, then went to PanAm until 1990, served with United Airlines for six months and then returned to fly with PanAm until its bankrupcy. After that, it changed ownership ten times until 2009 when it was finally stored for good.
N729PA was another former Singapore Airlines plane but changed ownership four times between 1980 and 1983 before entering service with PanAm. Sold in 1991 a few months before the airline demise it changed again ownership five times in three years before ending up with Evergreen International, flying with them until 2013 after beign converted ito freighter.

I think Pan Am was the first commercial air line I became aware of, MANY moons ago... So please, feel FREE to drawas MANY Pan American Airways aircraft as you guys see fit :D
