Its been worth waiting for, a very sleek and believable 1960s design.

Agree too, a very plausible and beautiful 1960's fighter. Well done Rowdy!

The HAe Tempest, the third redraw of this particular aircraft since I started here. (Image heavy post)

Design work for the HAe Tempest began in 1972 as a replacement for the HAe Typhoon then in service. It was expected to be a significant improvement on its predecessor, with a requirement for two engines, a capable radar set, BVR capability, ease of maintenance, rough field capability, ability to operate from an aircraft carrier, and with the ability to excel in a dogfight. On top of these already challenging requirements, in 1973 a further requirement arose for a two seat strike optimised variant that would ideally utilise the same airframe. HAe set about creating an aircraft that would ultimately meet or exceed all requirements and that would see service in Commonwealth forces well into the 21st Century. The resulting aircraft just missed the Falklands War, but served in every conflict since that Commonwealth forces were involved in, and is still in service with Recherche, Australia, Canada, Kenya, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. It proved to be quite a formidable long range fighter, especially when carrying up to 3 long range Sea Dart AAMs, and was used effectively in the long range strike and EW roles. After a long and distinguished service it is being replaced by the HAe Firebolt fifth generation fighter.

A great re-draw and a lovely set of drawings.
Picking up a lot of F-15 vibes in the design, overall it looks pretty good.

The Sea Dart LR AAM is a neat idea. The main problem is the drag from the annular ramjet intake but I guess with a suitable fairing that would work out ok.
