After some difficulties with the old version of RFA Argus' fore superstructure I'll reckon I got that pretty well done now! I have still some details to submit there, but now you can get a reasonable idea how she will looks in the end :D There are still the cranes and the fore deck to do, but my estimate is that she is now 85% finish ;)

Very well done and seems to be progressing well.

one little point: in the pictures I have seen of her the hull is darker then the structure, not the other way around.

Also too many of the black lines are not black but have grey in them too. When tracing please be careful to make sure the lines are black, otherwise it looks messy. As a WIP it is certainly progressing well.

Sorry, but in fact she have the same colour overall. Only reason I make difference is to give depth in the drawing. She have so many incisions and notch's ;)

I'm aware of it. It seems to that I got a problem with my monitor to see differnece with very dark grey and black. When I'm nearly finish I will go trough her on a better pc (screen!) :)

The work is good but some suggestion are necessary in order to fit SB style:
3 hues of the same color are allowed.
The hull is darker than the upper part
The color is not used to enhance the drawing
Moreover pay attention to black lines: try to "color" with green and you'll get the wrong pixel/parts

I worked on a portion of the drawing using 3 grays (without checking the SB standard)

Thanks for the good advises :D I'm nearly finish (approxemately 95%) so now I will do something with the grey, and I will fix the black lines (or rather make the lines black  ).
But I have to tell you all: I don't know where you have it from, that Argus hull is darker than the upper? In the old version she have been both in the same paint and also painted different where the upper was darker than the hull!!! The refitted version from 2010 have the same grey paint overall! I've spend a lot of time studying this particular vessel. That doesn't made me an expert but though very familiar with her. To example didn't I knew she had been platform to Harrier landings (and take offs), but she have (for showing that I've put a Sea Harrier on the aft deck!). She had also been used as platform for the RN's Merlins in an exercise at Bahamas in 2005. The most common helicopter used on Argus is Sea Kings, but I'll save them to my 2010 version ;)
Here she is 95% finished!

It doesn't matter how she looks in real life. The hull is always darker than the superstructure.
The only exceptions are if the superstructure are painted significantly darker, say a dark blue superstructure over an orange hull.

You can have the depth in the drawing by simply adversing the shade...make the hull darker and the upper works ligther.

As for shaddowing I would go with either lesser blocks of really dark grey (one pixel) or use the "hull" or railing shade instead...
