The German battleships have arrived ingame and Wargaming has announced the Royal Navy cruiser line! About time don't you guys think? Most, if not all, of them appear to be light cruisers.
If I understood correctly World of Warships tier systems, the first ship is a standalone unit that once the Destroyers, battleship and Carrier lines will be intruduced will just act as the "entry level" ship from which the other lines will branch off.
The fact that there are only Light Cruisers might be an indication of WoWs rumored intention of slitting the Light Cruisers and Heavy cruisers in two different, separate, lines. Otherwise, British Heavy cruisers will be only obtainable as premium ships.

No I don't, I get it now and again usually when its free. I hammered the U.S destroyers to build up my xp especially for the launch of the German Battleship line. Konig is my favourite including the Bayern atm.

The Mighty Jingles did a developer chat with some of the WoWs team last night ... basically, they've said that there probably won't be a distinct heavy cruiser line, basically because there wasn't a significant RN heavy cruiser line for them to use in the first place.
They also mentioned that the reason it's taken so long to get RN cruisers into the game in the first place was at least partly the volume of options (they mentioned on the chat that they could probably have done two entire lines of just light cruisers) and partly figuring out how to get it to work within game mechanics - this, I can imagine being even more difficult for RN battleships because the WoWs classification system will force both battleships and battlecruisers into the same sort of territory. RN cruisers have some fairly special rules applied to them that set them apart from the cruisers of other nations (primarily to mitigate the effects of design choices necessary from 6" guns all the way up to Tier X, I think) - while I think an RN battleship line could be a fairly standard battleship (it's not like we didn't build enough of those in our time!) I can imagine any RN battlecruiser line requiring substantially more tweaking.

Adam
