Didn't we have a similar problem with the Malta Class carrier?

I think he means the fact that, when first posted the 4.5" guns were not trained foe-and-aft but at an angle, which led to some comments

In a nutshell, there weren't enough space between the turrets for the barrels to fit.

No it wasn't Malta. I think it was either Bomhead's Eagle or Ark Royal.
Anyway its not really a serious issue for this ship since he's used logic here although a better looking elevation should be attempted.

My apologies about not putting this up earlier, gentlemen. I was expecting to have to spend quite some time working on the barrels to get them at a pleasing but not impossible angle so the help would be appreciated.

Sorry I cann't give any advice, but imageshack is not working for me. All I get is a yellow frog inside an ice-cube saying "Domain Unregistered. To view, register at: bit.ly/imageshack-domain"

...Odd. It's always been a very reliable service for me. I'll brush out the password for my photobucket, then. I've already got the barrels down to 10 degrees elevation by shifting C turret 1 foot forward, which was possible by designing the Type E turret actually used on the ships instead of using the Tone-class' turret placeholder as I was before.

And here are the new turrets with the barrels down to 10 degrees elevation and fitting nicely. Please note that the weird sort of bridge on the tops and fronts of the turrets is very intentional and real. Japan, as a cooling measure in the tropics, welded a thin steel plate on support beams to the tops and fronts of the Type E turrets on this class, with a space between the plate and the turret top and face of 4 inches or 2/3rds pixel, enough to demand representation and very prominent in photographs of the turrets from the side in the period. The idea was that the thin sheet would heat up instead of the turret and the air passages under it would help to carry the heat away and keep the turret cooler, without being flameable.

Since these are a permanently fixed part of this design of Japanese 8-inch turret, they are accordingly included.

One last update before I return my attention to studies with the resumption of school impending; I may however have the ability to take a stab at finishing her this coming weekend, if not, in the next few weeks to come.

If anyone has any questions about a part or shape, let me know and I can explain what it does. The bridge tower is by no means finished but all the primary elements are now defined and in.
