Changes in the 1780 uniform: Modernized cap and coat cut, silver buttons and piping, national cockade on cap
Changes in the 1805 uniform: Modernized coat cut and hat, tall standing collar with double silver litzen, changes to haversack, shoulder straps
Changes in the 1840 uniform: Introduction of the dunkelblau waffenrock tunic, dunkelgrau trousers, pickelhaube, shortened standing color, jackboots, and new haversack, belt, ammunition pouches, etc.
Changes in the 1860 uniform: Shortened pickelhaube, blue trousers, turn back cuffs, blue shoulder straps
Changes in the 1900 uniform: Introduction of the dunkelgrau tunic and trousers, brown leather finishes, new haversack design, large tunic pockets, khaki pickelhaube cover with red regimental number
Changes in the 1916 uniform: Elimination of all red piping, introduction of the black-finished stahlhelm, black leather finishes, silver belt buckle, fold over button cover
