Biggest changes I would make are that I would take the forward two cats and angle them toward each other (ie closer to the center line at that bow), and take the third cad, move it aft, and cant it out over the angled deck.

Here are some pictures showing the deck layout of the Ford and Nimitz.

I also direct you to the story of the Charles de Gaulle

Revisions to the 'Ark'

Smaller deck plan, still illustrates basic placement of bits 'n bobs though.

Revisions to the actual drawing.

Thoughts? - Regards, Mark.

How about a third decoy launcher near the stern?
I'm not really digging the hangar doors.
And a "Pirate*" radar would also be nice.

*A nav radar that has an unobscured filed of view aft.

Much improved layout. Still not sold on the underwater bow, but the layout is much improved.

And what Thiel said.

Suggestions to avoid a big gaping hole in the RCS other than covering the lifts or burying them within the hull?

Decoy launchers astern added and changes to radar placement.

It's a carrier, stealth really isn't an option.
Any and all stealthy features are lost once you put aircraft on deck

How's this for a compromise? Remove the casing from around the lift shaft and what not then for the hole in the side of the hull to move stuff to and from the lifts could be fitted with roller shuttering over the aperture, not as problematic?

Can't see why it should. If memory serves, the Nimitz already has doors.

Like Thiel said, he got a point, when people walk on deck and planes take-up, you won't be steatlthy. I like the drawing a lot!

this might help. I don't know if this is an official model, but if so, the INS Vikrant will have enclosed elevators at the deck edge. I have no idea HOW or IF it works, this model is the only source showing them, but well....... it seems possible.
